ARTIFACT: This is an Early United States Civil War 1/6 Plate Tintype of Union Soldier with Colt Dragoon Pistol in Gutta Percha Case. Littlefield, Parsons & Co. Case Patented 1857.

Manufacturers of daguerreotype cases, the patent holders for Union Cases made from a mixture of shellac and wood fibres pressed into a steel mold produced from about 1855 to 1865.

VINTAGE: Civil War Era..

SIZE: Approximately: 3-3/4" in height x 3-1/4" in width x 7/8" in depth.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gutta Percha Case, 1/6 Plate Tintype photo.

ATTACHMENT: Hinged lid.

MARKINGS: showing on image 14th

ITEM NOTES: This is from a US Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. 

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The button on the side is missing otherwise, it is in excellent condition.
