ARTIFACT: This is a circa early 1970s pilot hat badge 3rd issue Type II for the Flying Tiger Line. The airline was started in Los Angeles, California by ten former American Volunteer Group members in 1947, and it operated until 1989. The badge shows a closed "T" at the center of a camera shutter-like design.

VINTAGE: Circa early 1970s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/4" in height and 2-11/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass, painted area.

ATTACHMENT: Two posts with clutch-backs.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an airline collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VBJX12 LAGEX2/13

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The badge has some light wear and tarnish.
