ARTIFACT:
Early 1970's Army Security Agency (ASA) Radio Research Detachment pocket patch. This unusual variant was made in Saigon and shows an embroidered white bolt in the center with the letters "RR" on each side with white star embellishments. Along the top it reads: "328" and along the bottom: "DET" in yellow embroidered lettering and pencil outlines for the embroidery can be seen around the area of the letters.
VINTAGE:
Circa early 1970's.
SIZE:
Approximately 3-7/8" in height x 3-3/8" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Embroidered nylon, silk/cotton/polyester threads., paper backing, tape, ink
ATTACHMENT:
To be sewn onto uniform.
MARKINGS:
Piece of masking tape on reverse reads: "VARIANT - IN CORRECT COLORS"
