ARTIFACT: This is an early 1950s bullion pilot cap badge for the British Overseas Airways Corporation, which flew from 1939 until it merged with British European Airways to form British Airways in 1974. The badge shows a winged lion at center in silver bullion, with a golden wreath beneath him and a golden crown above him.

VINTAGE: Circa early 1950s.

SIZE: Approximately 2-1/2" in height x 2-3/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Wool felt embroidered in bullion threads with cotton backing.

ATTACHMENT: To be sewn onto a visor hat.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The badge has some spots of very light wear and tarnish on the bullion.
