ARTIFACT: These are some gorgeous early 1940s Nazi Diplomatic Corps officer's visor hat insignia. The Diplomatic Corps was refined following the fall of the Second Reich and members of it dealt solely with international affairs, leaving internal government to those who answered to the Minister of the Interior. The eagle would have been worn upon the peak of the hat and the wreath upon the band.

VINTAGE: Circa early 1940s.

SIZE: Eagle: approximately 2-1/8" in height and 4-5/8" in width; wreath: approximately 1-13/16" in height and 5-1/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Wool felt embroidered in bullion and cotton/silk threads, mesh/paper backing (wreath also has a brass and velvet cockade).

ATTACHMENT: Brads holding cockade onto wreath.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Romanian Air Force collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MAJJX13 LHEJX9/13 TRCEJX8/14

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The insignia show only light wear and have some spots of heavier wear to the reverse only.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
