ARTIFACT: Extremely cool, unusual, and unique WWII United States Navy hand-made souvenir buckle from the Battle of Attu, Alaska. The center of the buckle reads: "ATTU" and just above: "NAVY". The buckle is made from an issue USN brass belt buckle with part of a steel US Navy button, a halved bullet projectile, and spells: "ATTU" with formed pieces of leaded brass.

VINTAGE: Circa WWII.

SIZE: Approximately 2-3/4" in length x 1-3/8" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Brass, steel, leaded brass.

ATTACHMENT: Clamp & friction buckle.

MARKINGS: "SOLID BRASS MADE IN THE USA"

ITEM NOTES: This is from a US Navy collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MBEX16 LAGEX12/16 SAEJX06/20

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The buckle shows moderate wear, oxidation to Navy button, much of the brass plated details remain intact, overall very fine condition.
