ARTIFACT: Cool 1952 badge of the 131st Fighter-Interceptor Squadron (FIS), Massachusetts Air National Guard for the dedication of the Barnes Municipal Airport in Westfield, MA. The center of the badge shows the Seal of the State of Massachusetts against a background of white, beneath it reads: "BARNES-MUNICIPAL AIRPORT WESTFIELD, MASS." and surrounding it reads: "131st FIGHTER-INTERCEPTOR SQUADRON, MANG DEDICATED OCT. 19th 1952 in blue enameled lettering.

VINTAGE: Circa 1952

SIZE: Approximately 2-1/16" in diameter

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Aluminum, enamel, steel

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with drop in locking swivel catch

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Massachusetts National Guard collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. TRVBJX TRCX16 LHEX11/16

CONDITION: 6+ (Fine—Very Fine): The badge shows moderate to heavy wear, oxidation on reverse, much of the enamel details remain intact, overall very fine condition.
