This is a Classic, Iconic, World War II Switlik Parachute Company "Caterpillar Club" pin by Metal Arts Co. The pin is in the shape of a caterpillar and reads: "CATERPILLAR CLUB" against a black enamel background. The reverse shows a maker's mark that reads: "MA CO. ROCH., N.Y." The "Caterpillar Club" is a designation given to those US airmen who were forced to bail out of a compromised aircraft and were saved because they were wearing a successfully operational parachute.
