ARTIFACT: This is a small but beautiful Civil War era Special Police badge from Concord, New Hampshire and a key fob belonging to the original owner of the badge (E.L. Smith). The badge is in coin silver, made from a pre-1829 United States quarter dollar. The badge has some decorative touches and the lettering is filled with jeweler's black. The fob is in nickel and lists Smith's place of residence as 7 Harrison Street in the capital city.

VINTAGE: Circa Civil War (1861-1865).

SIZE: Badge: approximately 1" in diameter; key fob: 1" by 7/8".

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Badge: coin silver with jeweler's black; fob: nickel.

ATTACHMENT: Badge: horizontal T-style pin with C catch; fob: hole.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Vermont police and law enforcement badge collection that we will be listing more of over the next few months. MCJX13 LDEJX12/13 SDEJX1/14

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): The badge and fob both show some light to medium wear/tarnish.
