ARTIFACT: This is a World War II pilot training patch for the Academy of Aeronautics, which was originally founded in 1932 as the Casey Jones School of Aeronautics. The school is located near LaGuardia Airport in New York and was renamed Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology in 2004.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 1-3/4" in height and 5-1/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Wool felt embroidered in cotton/silk threads.

ATTACHMENT: To be sewn onto Flight Clothing.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): The patch shows some light wear and small areas of minor soiling.
