ARTIFACT: This is a 1980s summer uniform captain's hat badge for Pakistan International Airlines, which started flying in 1947 under the name of Orient Airways but came into its own as a state-owned airline in 1955. The badge is embroidered in bright gold thread and shows a star over a wing that reads PIA at its center.

VINTAGE: Circa 1980s.

SIZE: Approximately 2-9/16" x 2-3/16"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Wool felt embroidered in silk/cotton threads with cloth backing.

ATTACHMENT: None.

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The badge has very light wear only to the reverse only.
