ARTIFACT:
This is a circa 1980 ground crew foreman badge 1st issue for US Air, which has its roots in All American Aviation (circa 1937). All American became Allegheny Airlines in 1953, and US Air was later born in 1979. In 1996 the airline changed its name to US Airways. The badge is by Balfour.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1980.
SIZE:
Approximately 1-3/16" in height and 2-1/16" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Plated brass, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:
Vertical pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.
MARKINGS:
Balfour mark, BALFOUR ??.
