ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1970s patch for the United States Navy Patrol Squadron 44 (VP-44), aka "Golden Pelicans". Established in 1939, VP-44 was disestablished in 1991 at NAS Brunswick (Maine). The twill patch shows a golden pelican in a sight about to drop a bomb.

VINTAGE: Circa 1970s.

SIZE: Approximately 4" in height and 3-7/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Twill embroidered in cotton/polyester thread, coated mesh backing.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Navy patrol squadron patch collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MAEZ13 LFJX10/13 SeHEX7/16

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The patch has some light wear with a minor spot of discoloration on reverse only.
