ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1957 Retired Police Lieutenant badge from Lowell, Massachusetts. The name of the original owner is etched on the reverse: Walter L. Kivlan. Kivlan was appointed on December 30, 1915 and retired on May 12, 1957. The badge is in the clamshell style with a city seal at center and the Arm of Miles Standish at the top.

VINTAGE: Circa 1957.

SIZE: Approximately 2-1/16" in height and 1-7/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt brass, painted lettering.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin on bar with drop-in locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS: WALTER L. KIVLAN APP. DEC. 30 1915 RET. MAY 12. 1957.

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The badge shows some areas of light to medium wear.
