ARTIFACT: This is a Korean War era (circa 1950) distinctive insignia for the United States Army 4th Reconnaissance Battalion. The large shield-shaped DI is enameled in red, light blue and yellow and was made in Austria by Poellath.

VINTAGE: Circa 1950 (early Korean War).

SIZE: Approximately 1-5/16" in height and 15/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Two posts with clutchbacks.

MARKINGS: P within circle (Poellath maker mark).

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Korean War era United States Army distinctive insignia collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months VHX14 LFJX7/14

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The DI has only very light wear.
