ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1930 badge by Augis for the French torpedo boat "Mars", launched August 28, 1926. She served until November 27, 1942, when she capsized under German fire. She was later refloated but deemed unrecoverable. The badge is pentagonal and shows the profile of the God of War with a rooster on his shield.
Voici un insigne faite par Augis pour le torpilleur Le Mars, lancé le 28 août 1926. Elle a servi jusqu'en Novembre 27, 1942, quand elle a chaviré sous le feu des mitrailleuses allemandes. Elle a ensuite été remis à flot, mais jugé irrécupérable. Le badge est pentagonale et montre le profil du Dieu de la guerre avec un coq sur son bouclier.

VINTAGE: Circa 1930.

SIZE: Approximately 1" in height and 1-1/16" in width. 2.5 cm x 2.7 cm.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold-plated brass, enamel. Laiton plaqué or, émail.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal safety-style pin with saddle. Horizontaux de sécurité de style broches avec selle.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The badge has light wear with some tarnish and only one sliver of enamel missing. 7+ (Très beaux): Le badge a l'usure légère avec certains ternissent et un seul ruban d'émail manquant.
