ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1917 United States Air Service officer collar insignia in a beautiful riveted construction. The design of the insignia is a small wing at the center of a torch and two crossed flags. This design was the earliest of the three WWI officer collar insignia designs.

VINTAGE: Circa 1917 (World War I).

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/16"e; in height and 1-3/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Bronze.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with C catch, rivets.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a WWI United States Air Service collar insignia collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VEJX06 LCDEX4/14

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The insignia has some light wear.
