ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1910s Virginia Confederate Veterans' souvenir watch fob. The fob is in gilt brass with celluloid and has the seal of the Virginia at its center with the motto Sic Semper Tyrannis (Thus to all tyrants). It is by Whitehead & Hoag of Newark, New Jersey. This fob, along with the other items listed for sale separately at the bottom of the page, all came to us from the same unknown Confederate veteran.

VINTAGE: Circa 1910s.

SIZE: Approximately 2-3/16" in height (including hanger) and 1-1/2" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt brass, celluloid.

ATTACHMENT: Hanger, rectangular loop.

MARKINGS: THE WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO. NEWARK, N.J.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Confederate veteran item collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAX13 LFJX9/13 SAJX10/13

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The fob has some small areas of light to medium wear and tarnish.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
