ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1900 fireman's dress visor hat from the Concord, New Hampshire Fire Department, Old Fort Engine Company #2 which was a Hand Pump Engine in East Concord (one of the 3 'villages' that make up Concord: also West Concord and Penacook). The front of the hat bears a cross-shaped Company #2 badge. There is an unreadable diamond-shaped maker stamp in the lining of the hat.

VINTAGE: Circa 1900.

SIZE: No size tag: approximate size 7 or 7-1/4.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Wool, leather, silk, nickeled brass with painted details.

ATTACHMENT: Chin strap; single screw post with disc backing on badge.

MARKINGS: Unreadable diamond-shaped maker's stamp.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a firefighting collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months.VCJX03 LAFEX12/12 SLADEX6/17 PSAEEX6/17 hldLOCATE04/19 (Most likely incorrectly shipped 12/18)

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The hat has some minor scuffs to the wool on top and light abrasions to the visor; worn spot at maker's stamp. There is about 1" or so of gapping of the leather liner but by and large it is secure. Overall this hat is in very fine condition.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
