ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1970s United States Air Force Geophysics Laboratory (AFGL) Balloon Branch jacket patch from Hanscom Air Force Base, just outside Bedford, Massachusetts. The patch is embroidered upon twill and reads ITER AD ASTRA (The way to the stars).

VINTAGE: Circa 1970's.

SIZE: Approximately 3-15/16" in height and 4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Twill embroidered in cotton/silk/polyester threads, mesh backing.

ATTACHMENT: To be sewn onto uniform.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: The patch you will receive will either be the one pictured or one in very similar condition. This is from a 1970s USAF jacket patch collection that we will be listing more of over the next few months. 4@VEX14 LCIX5/14 S(1)CIX11/13/22

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The patch has only very light wear.
