ARTIFACT:
Wonderful 1920's "Stock" Western circle cut out star shield Deputy Sheriff badge. The nickel plated nickel, slightly convex badge reads: "DEPUTY SHERIFF" in stamped lettering with black detail.
These badges came out of an old collection put together by a collector from Kansas, now deceased. As the bulk of his collection was Kansas and Colorado, it can be safely assumed that these badges were indeed worn in the Old West of their particular vintage, although I do not know exactly where any were used or collected.
