ARTIFACT: This is an American Railway Express Messenger badge #2309.

VINTAGE: Circa 1917.

SIZE: About 3-1/16" in width by 3-1/16" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt brass, celluloid and printed paper.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal one piece safety-type pin with a "C" catch.

MARKINGS: Union mark above: BASTIAN BROS. ROCHESTER, N.Y.

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine - Excellent): Very minor wear.
