ARTIFACT: Circa 1880 Portsmouth, New Hampshire Fire Department Col. Sise Steam Fire Engine 2 Clerk badge in hand engraved sterling silver. The shield shaped badge features nicely detailed engraving along the outer edge and the badge reads: "CLERK S.F.E. COL. SISE 2 WE'LL TRY". The reverse shows an illegible maker's mark.

VINTAGE: Circa 1880's.

SIZE: Approximately 1-3/4" in height x 1-5/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling silver.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical safety style pin with 'C' style catch.

MARKINGS: Illegible maker's mark stamped on reverse
