ARTIFACT:
Great 1930's - 40's United States Navy jacket patch. Unidentified, most likely circa 1947 - 1948 VF4-B which became VF-42 in 1949. The patch shows a jester wearing a red checkered hat with ears that depict a sight target and possibly a missile and above him reads: "JESTERS" and beneath reads: "VF-4 FLT-42"

Circa 1930's - 1940's
SIZE:
Approximately 4 ¾" x 5"
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Embroidered, cotton/polyester/silk threads, gauze backing
ATTACHMENT:
To be sewn on.

CONDITION:
6+ (Fine&emdash;Very Fine): The patch shows moderate wear and soiling, has been removed from uniform leaving loose threads around edges, gauze backing shows small areas of separation, the reverse shows minor glue residue.
