ARTIFACT:
This is an 1898 unidentified postal badge from the town of Verviers, a French-speaking Walloon city in the Belgian province of Liège. The badge has a maker's mark (FW) and reads AIDE MUTUELLE DES FACTEURS DE POSTES DE VERVIERS INAUGURATION DU DRAPEAU 14 AOÛT 1898 (mutual aid stations of the factors of Verviers flag inauguration August 14, 1898). It also shows the motto of Verviers, VERT ET VIEUX (green and old). Ceci est un badge non identifiés postal de la ville de Verviers, une ville wallonne de langue française dans la province belge de Liège. Le badge a une marque du fabricant (FW) et lit AIDE MUTUELLE DES FACTEURS DE POSTES DE VERVIERS INAUGURATION DU DRAPEAU 14 AOÛT 1898. Il montre aussi la devise de Verviers VERT ET VIEUX.
