ARTIFACT: Unidentified beautiful 1888 date marked British Artillery Regimental medal made in Birmingham. Possibly an Irish Regiment with clover shamrock design. The ornately embellished medal shows a soldier in the center with an artillery cannon in the background. Surrounding the center is an ornate Maltese cross with clover shamrocks between the arms of the cross. The reverse shows a number of date and maker marks, see photo.

VINTAGE: Circa 1888

SIZE: Approximately 1 7/8" x 1 ??"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Silver

ATTACHMENT: Loop for chain attachment.

MARKINGS: "J.F." or "J. P." Birmingham silver and date marked on reverse (see photo).

ITEM NOTES: This is from a collection of unidentified artifacts which we will be listing more of over the next few months. Item will not be sold until identified. CON-DMB-25-15 LX8/15

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The medal shows minor to moderate wear mostly to high point in center, overall excellent condition.
