ARTIFACT: This is an unidentified French postal badge for a carrier in a horse-drawn mail coach of the Charente Relay Number 3. The badge is by Monsieur Ameling, an engraver who lived on the "Passage of the Salmon" in Paris. The badge reads "poste aux chevaux relais de Churet" (Charente relay station for horses). C'est un insigne inconnu postal pour un transporteur dans un calèche email Relais de Churet N° 3. Le badge est par Monsieur Ameling, un graveur qui vivait sur le Passage du Saumon. Le badge lit "poste aux chevaux relais de Churet" (Charente relay station for horses).

VINTAGE: Circa 1834-1846(?).

SIZE: Approximately 3-1/4" in height and 2-9/16" in width. Environs 8.3 cm par 6.5 cm.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Brass. En laiton.

ATTACHMENT: Eight small holes. Huit petits trous.

MARKINGS: AMELING, PASSAGE DU SAUMON.
