ARTIFACT: Beautiful WWII United States Coast Guard Auxiliary hat badge in gilt sterling silver by Gemsco. The center of the badge features a nice, high relief detail stars and bars shield and surrounding an enameled ring reads: "U. S. COAST GUARD AUXILIARY", with crossed anchors behind.

VINTAGE: Circa WWII

SIZE: Approximately 1" x 1"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt sterling silver, enamel

ATTACHMENT: Single screw post with disc backing.

MARKINGS: "STERLING", "GEMSCO"

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine - Excellent): The hat badge shows moderate wear, nearly all the gilt and enamel details remain intact.
