ARTIFACT: This is a rare circa 1920's or 1930's South African Air Force (SAAF) pilot wing. The wing is South African-made and is unpadded. The crest at the center of the wing has four quadrants and is the coat of arms formerly used on the South African national flag.

VINTAGE: Circa 1920s or 1930s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/2" in height and 4-7/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Wool felt embroidered in silk/cotton threads, treated cloth backing.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Great Britain and Commonwealth militaria collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAJJX16 LFGEX10/16

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The wing has only some light wear.
