ARTIFACT: Beautiful, Issue, Named, later 1920's French Army pilot badge #24545. The badge is named to Henri Paupardin, we have found reference to the pilot having been in China by the 1930's, badge was actually given to a 14th Air Force Fighter by Paupardin early in WWII. Rare, low number, Issue badge – even rarer with a name! The badge shows a gilt wing and star decorating a wreath of laurels. It is numbered "24545" and reads: "PAUPARDIN HENRI" on reverse.

VINTAGE: Circa later 1920's

SIZE: Approximately: 2-1/8" x 1-5/8"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt brass, sterling

ATTACHMENT: Two loops/lugs – pin missing

MARKINGS: "PAUPARDIN 24545 HENRI"

ITEM NOTES: This is from a French militaria collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. CON-PJC-25-16 LDEJX8/16

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The badge shows minor to moderate wear, pin is missing, much of the gilt plated details remain intact, overall handsome patina.
