ARTIFACT: Beautiful early 20th century, Daughters of the Republic of Texas member badge in beautifully enameled 10K gold and named to Laura Wilbarger Gilbert. The circle star badge features an enameled Texas flag in the center with one enameled letter of 'TEXAS' on each of the five points of the star. The outer circle reads: "DAUGHTERS OF THE REPUBLIC OF TEXAS 1836 – 1891 ONE AND INDIVISIBLE" in enameled lettering and details. The reverse of the badge reads: "L. W. GILBERT". This example came to us along with the Texas US Daughters of 1812 member badge (see links below).

VINTAGE: Circa early 20th C.

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/8" in diameter

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Enameled 10K gold, engraved

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal 'T' pin with come under catch.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine—Excellent): The badge shows minor to moderate wear, much enameled details remain intact, overall nice patina.
