ARTIFACT: This is a beautiful ca. 1900-1910 US Navy Chief Petty Officer (CPO) hat badge. The "stock" of the badge comes to a point, which is an indicator that it is an early design for this insignia.

VINTAGE: Circa 1900-10

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/2" x 1-1/8"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold Filled bronze with sterling letters.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with over-under catch

MARKINGS: "USN"

ITEM NOTES: This is from a US Navy collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAJX16 LAGEX03/17

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): Little to light wear. The letters have light tarnish.
