ARTIFACT: Beautiful 1930's - Early WWII United States Coast Guard small size Officer hat badge by Blackinton. The gold filled bronze and sterling badge, for wear on overseas cap is an eagle bearing a silver shield on its chest and grasping an anchor in its talons. The badge is two pieces, the shield and anchor are one piece and the eagle another, held together with screw post and backing.

VINTAGE: Circa 1930's - Early WWII

SIZE: Approximately 1-3/8" x 1-1/4".

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold filled bronze, sterling, two piece badge

ATTACHMENT: Three posts with screwbacks

MARKINGS: "1-20 GF BY BLACKINTON" on eagle, "STERLING" on anchor

ITEM NOTES: This is from a USCG collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VBEM16 LABEX6/16 SABEX12/18

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The badge show minor to moderate wear and spots of verdigris, much of the gold fill details remain intact, overall handsome patina.
