ARTIFACT: This is a circa early Third Reich aviation meet badge from a 1934 event in Hamburg for the DLV (Deutsches Luft Verband), the Civil Aviation branch of the Nazi Party. This badge was made in the pre-WWII years when the DLV was secretly training pilots for the soon-to-emerge Luftwaffe. It has a pierced brass construction with a silver wash that has mostly worn away. There is a propeller at its center and reads FLIEGER-TREFFEN (flyer meet) HAMBURG 1934.

VINTAGE: Circa 1934.

SIZE: Approximately 1-3/16" in height and 1-15/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Pierced construction brass with silver wash and painted areas.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal safety-style pin.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Nazi Germany collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VCJX12 LAAEX11/12

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): The tinnie shows some small areas of light to medium wear; silver wash is mostly worn away.
