ARTIFACT: This is a Southeast Asia cruise book for the United States Navy destroyer USS Keppler (DD-765) entitled "Ready: Where the Action Is" published circa 1967. Launched June 24, 1946, the USS Keppler served in the Korean War, earning two battle stars, and later the Vietnam War. This book covers her Far East cruise from October 1966 until early 1967, during which time she participated in Operation Sea Dragon and the rescue of a pilot. She was decommissioned in 1972 and sold to the nation of Turkey. The book has several black-and-white group and candid photographs, with just a few pages' worth in color.

VINTAGE: Published circa 1967.

SIZE: 64 pages (plus cover letter), approximately 11" in height and 8-1/2" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Painted cloth-bound cover, glossy textured paper.

ATTACHMENT: Glued binding.
