ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1960s USAF 23rd Tactical Fighter Squadron jacket patch. Stationed at Bitburg Air Base in Germany, the 23rd flew the F-105 Thunderchief and the F-4 Phantom III during the 1960s and earned two Air Force Outstanding Unit Awards. The patch is embroidered upon bright orange twill and shows an eagle with red, white and blue feathers wearing a flight helmet and boxing gloves.

VINTAGE: Circa 1960s.

SIZE: Approximately 3-7/8" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Twill embroidered in cotton/polyester threads, mesh backing.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Air Force Tactical Fighter Squadron jacket patch collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. ZBJX13 LHEX11/13 SGJX6/16

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The patch shows little wear and has a small strip of masking tape on reverse.
