ARTIFACT: This is a 1960s United States Army distinctive insignia for the 501st Aviation Battalion. The DI is enameled in a brilliant turquoise and shows a winged circle with an eagle's head at its center. The DI reads THE WARDING EYE and there is a lightning bolt coming out of the eagle's eye.

VINTAGE: Circa 1960s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/8" in height and 1-1/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Two posts.

MARKINGS: N.S. MEYER INC. NEW YORK, Meyer maker's mark, 22M.

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The DI shows some light wear only.
