ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1960s member lapel pin for the Newark, New Jersey Police Department "Bronze Shield" Association. Established in 1959, the "Bronze Shields", as they are now known, is an African American association within the Newark Police Department.

VINTAGE: Circa 1960s.

SIZE: Approximately 5/8" in height and 5/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt brass, painted details.

ATTACHMENT: Post with covered clutch-back catch, stabilization tooth.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a city, town and county police/law enforcement collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. LFEX7/12

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The pin shows light wear: most of the painted lettering has worn away.
