ARTIFACT: This is a late 1960s United States Air Force F-106 Delta Dart aircraft-type jacket patch. The United States Air Force used the Dart as its go-to interceptor aircraft from the 1960s through the 1980s. This patch is as worn by the 49th FIS stationed at Griffiss AFB New York and nicknamed the "Green Eagles". The patch was worn on flight suits and jackets, fatigues and field jackets. This patch shows a green bird and a lightning bolt crossing paths with a Dart.

VINTAGE: Circa 1960s.

SIZE: Approximately 4-1/2" in height and 3-7/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Twill embroidered in cotton/polyester/silk threads, mesh backing.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The patch shows some light to medium wear and discoloration.
