ARTIFACT: This is a 1960s sterling pilot hat badge third issue for Allegheny Airlines, which flew out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from 1952 to 1979, when it changed its name to USAir. The badge shows a wreathed red and blue enameled boomerang-like wing at center.

VINTAGE: Circa 1960s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-11/16" height and 2-1/8" width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling silver with enamel.

ATTACHMENT: One screw post with disc backing and two posts with clutch-back catches.

MARKINGS: STERLING.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an airlines collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VGEL03 LBDEX11/10 SAHB/CFX12/11

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): Badge shows small spots of light to medium wear and tarnish.
