ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1950s French Navy badge for the frigate (frégate) Amiral Mouchez. The ship was named for the French hydrographer, astronomer and cons-Admiral Amédée Ernest Barthélémy Mouchez. The badge is by A. Augis of Lyon, and is enameled in a waterside scene using pleasing hues of blue and red. .

VINTAGE: Circa 1950s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-7/16" square.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Enameled brass.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal safety-style pin with saddle.

MARKINGS: A. AUGIS LYON 28 ST. BARTHELEMY.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a foreign militaria collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. ebay VAJX12 LEEX1/13

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The badge shows a few very small spots of light wear and one small piece of enamel is missing.
