ARTIFACT: This is a French Army parachutist pre-military (school) badge, or brevet Preparation Militaire Parachutiste‏, by Arthus Bertrand. The badge is a golden sword behind a parachute and nicely enameled blue, white and red rings. It reads HONNEUR ET PATRIE (Honor and country).

VINTAGE: Circa 1950s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-7/8" in height and 1-1/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated and gilt brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical safety-style pin with saddle.

MARKINGS: A. B. (Arthus Bertrand mark) PARIS H.597 on reverse of badge; ARTUS BERTRAND PARIS 46 RUE DE RENNES on saddle.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a French militaria collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. ebay VEX12 LBHX10/12

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The badge has some very small bits of enamel missing in one ring.
