ARTIFACT: This is a distinctive insignia for the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C. The DI is a red enameled crest showing a caduceus at its center and reads SCIENTIA INTER ARMA SPIRITUS (In the Spirit of Science and Arms).

VINTAGE: Circa 1950s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-5/16" in height 7/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS: N.S. MEYER INC. NEW YORK and maker's mark.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAL90 LABX6/11

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The DI has some light wear and tarnish.
