ARTIFACT:
This is a World War II unit history of the United States Army Air Forces 1st Air Division written by Captain Robert F. Merritt, public relations officer. The book has several illustrations and black and white photographs, many in post-war Okinawa, and illustrations by McFadden of the Daily Okinawan. Many of the captions are very interesting, with commentary on the culture and peoples of the Pacific. The book was published in 1947.
