This is a first edition copy of "The Menace from Moresby: A Pictorial History of the 5th Air Force in World War II" by Lieutenant Colonel Russell L. Sinton. The story of the 5th Air Force is one of survival: it was built upon the remains of what was left to the Far East Air Force after the devastating Battle of the Philippines. Headquartered in Australia, the 5th was born on February 5, 1942. The book has several interesting black and white photographs, including some great nose art shots. The book was published in 1946 by Newsfoto Publishing Company of San Angelo, Texas.
