ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1941 "Protection Against Gas" booklet from the Office of Civilian Defense. It is named to Corporal Nettie Bunker of the Massachusetts Women's Defense Corps (MWDC), a wartime volunteer organization providing emergency and other services. On the inside of the back cover is an envelope containing a large fold-up chart entitled "Chemical Warfare Agents"

VINTAGE: Circa 1941.

SIZE: 75 pages with black and white (and a few color) illustrations; approximately 9-1/16" in height and 5-3/4" in width and 1/4" in thickness; chart: approximately 21" x 14-1/2".

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Oaktag cover, paper.

ATTACHMENT: Stapled binding.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Civil Defense collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. LEEX4/13

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The book shows some small areas of light to medium wear on cover with minor creasing at a few of the corners; there is a small stain on the Table of Contents page and the page opposite it. There is some small, light handwriting on the chart.
