This is a Nice Old 1940's Santa Clara County California Deputy Sheriff Mounted Posse 7 point Star Badge #107 in Chrome plated Brass by Ed Jones.
VINTAGE:
1940's.
SIZE:
Approximately 2-7/8" in height x 2-7/8" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Chrome Plated Brass, seal is Gold fill on brass.
ATTACHMENT:
Vertical kick type pin with forked locking catch.

CONDITION:
8- (Very Fine - Excellent): This is actually a posse badge, and what you're seeing is some odd wear, probably based on where the wearer wore the badge, there was probably some leather that rubbed against it over a period of time and caused this wear...There is some light flaking to the chrome finish on the back but that does not really detract.
GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
