ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1940 (early World War II) Chinese Army officer's dagger in its original scabbard. The dagger's handle is made of faux tortoiseshell encased in gilt brass embellished with flowers, flags and the Chinese sun. The dagger has a handsome copper sheath with decorative gilt brass.

VINTAGE: Circa 1940 (early W0rld War II).

SIZE: Approximately 15" in length and 2-1/4" in width; blade only: 10-1/8" in length and 7/8" in width; scabbard only: 10-3/4" in length and 1-1/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Steel, faux tortoiseshell, gilt brass, copper sheath.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The dagger has some moderate wear to the blade and with some small spots of oxidation and a few very small dings to the scabbard.
