ARTIFACT: This is an early American Airlines "Admiral of the Flagship Fleet" frequent flyer appreciation certificate. John Squibb was the recipient of this certificate dated April 25, 1940. The certificate comes in its original wooden frame, and bears the facsimile signature of C.R. (Cyrus Rowlett) Smith, president of American from 1934 through 1968, except temporarily during World War II.

VINTAGE: Circa 1940.

SIZE: Approximately 11-15/16" in height by 9-7/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Printed paper, glass, wood, pressboard backing.

ATTACHMENT: Wire hanger.

MARKINGS: Facsimile signature of C.R. SMITH, PRESIDENT AMERICAN AIRLINES, INC.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The certificate has been well-preserved ??? there are some smudges under the glass that may or may not wipe away.
