Saar is an area in Germany that was ruled jointly by the British and the French following the Treaty of Versailles, and then returned to Germany under popular pressure in 1935. The tinnie is octagonal and shows two hands shaking, one in a broken fetter. It reads Deutsch ist die Saar Des Deutschen ehre ist die treue (Saar is German; German honor is faithful).

VINTAGE: Circa 1934.

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/2" in height and 1-1/2" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Tin/plated brass.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal safety-style pin.

MARKINGS: RK on front.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Nazi Germany collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAX11 LCDX2/11

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The tinnie has some light wear and tarnish.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
